Yellow Bear Energy helps power the future of the United States by meeting the nation’s growing electricity needs while creating new income opportunities for farmers and ranchers.
Through strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with landowners and trusted renewable energy developers, we deploy low-impact energy systems that integrate seamlessly with existing farm and ranch operations.
Our approach ensures that agricultural land remains productive and true to its heritage while contributing to a cleaner, more reliable energy grid. By blending tradition with innovation, we empower stewards of the land to build a more resilient, prosperous future—both for themselves and for the country.

Ron is a proven leader in renewable energy with a wealth of transactional experience in utility-scale projects. He has a distinguished track record of successfully identifying and securing strategic greenfield sites for solar energy development. As an adept negotiator, Ron has forged strong relationships with landowners and top-tier solar energy firms, demonstrating an exceptional ability to build trust and foster cooperation among project stakeholders.
Ron’s current projects include a 3,000-acre site 3 miles west of the Intermountain Power Plant (IPP) in west-central Utah. The plant is in development and is scheduled to be in service by the end of 2027 when it will send electricity to cities in Southern California. He is also working on a 1 GW project and a 250 MW project also in west-central Utah. The gigawatt solar + storage project will be coupled with a data center and redundant gas generation.
Before his work in the utility solar energy sector, Ron specialized in distributed solar solutions for commercial and public buildings. A standout achievement in his early career includes spearheading the development of a 1.7 MW rooftop solar energy plant at the prestigious Salt Palace Convention Center in downtown Salt Lake City—where his firm secured the contract besting SolarCity. Ron's expertise and commitment to excellence position him as a force in the renewable energy landscape.
Prior to his work in the solar energy industry, Ron designed and led trips to the Himalaya and Southeast Asia
